Bogota, June 1 (RHC)-- The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, denounced before attending the meeting of presidents of South America, in Brazil, that a soft coup strategy is being developed against his government.

Petro denounced the maneuvers of political persecution that have achieved the departure of several figures of his government, such as Senator Roy Barreras.  The president assures that in the persecution there are interests especially of the Colombian right wing that does not want to leave power and resort to all kinds of strategies to prevent the development of the economic, social and political reforms that he has been promoting.

Three key reforms for the development of the Government are currently being discussed in Congress: the labor, health and pension reforms.

Senator Wilson Arias declared: "People voted for a change and with the passing of the days and with the passing of the days they want to pervert this purpose of change by preventing reforms for which the citizens voted and trying to alter the composition of the Congress and weaken the representation of the spokespersons of the change".

In view of this panorama, analysts consider that a lawfare or political judicialization campaign is being built, as well as that the maneuvers respond to the loss of privileges of the elites.
