Tel Aviv, July 18 (RHC)-- Israeli protesters have once again taken to the streets to vent their outrage at the ruling right-wing coalition led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.  Crowds of people staged rallies in Tel Aviv, al-Quds, Haifa and Rehovot on Tuesday in a "day of resistance" against the so-called judicial overhaul plan, which sparked the months-long protests in the first place.

They blocked traffic on major roads, often in both directions, at multiple locations.  "We are saying no to dictatorship," a 62-year-old protester was quoted by Reuters as saying.  Some protesters blocked the entrance to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, then entered the building and staged a rally inside. 

Others blocked the entrance to the headquarters of the Israeli ministry of military affairs in Tel Aviv.

The protesters are also expected to converge at train stations across the city in the afternoon, disrupting commutes to pile pressure on the occupying regime.  Local police authorities said 19 protesters have been arrested in different locations so far.

The rallies initially began in the occupied territories back in January, when Netanyahu’s cabinet announced a legislation package that would roll back some supreme court powers and give the governing hard-right coalition decisive sway in picking judges.  The protests, however, soon turned into a movement against the Netanyahu regime.
