Sanaa, February 3 (RHC)-- Yemen's Armed Forces have carried out a ballistic missile strike against the city of Eilat in the southern part of the occupied Palestinian territories in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, who are enduring a genocidal Israeli war.

The forces announced the strike in a statement on Friday.  "The missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation against specific targets of the Israeli enemy in the Umm Al-Rashrash (Eilat) area with several ballistic missiles," the statement read.

For over a month now, the Yemeni military has been conducting many strikes against Israeli targets, including those lying across the occupied territories and Israeli vessels.

The operations have been described as a response to an October 7, 2023-present war and siege that the Israeli regime has been waging against Gaza following an operation carried out by the Palestinian territory's resistance movements.

Millions took to the streets of Yemen on Friday to voice support for Gazans in the face of a brutal Israeli onslaught against the besieged territory.

More than 27,100 Palestinians, mostly women, children, and adolescents, have died in the war so far.

According to the statement, the forces considered the anti-Israeli operations to be rooted in "their religious, ethical, and humanitarian duties towards the oppressed Palestinian people," and a response to "the calls of our the free Yemeni people and all the free people of our Arab and Islamic nation."

"The Yemeni Armed Forces will not hesitate to carry out more military operations against the Zionist enemy on land and sea until the aggression stops and the siege on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is lifted."
