Caracas, March 30 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has rejected new threats against the country by the Government of the United States.

Through a message broadcast to the people of Venezuela, the Bolivarian leader declared that the U.S. Empire is once again threatening the South American nation with "nailing the nails of the sanctions of the blockade, of economic aggression."

"Today, the U.S. Empire chose Good Friday to threaten Venezuela again.  Everyone should know it (...) Today they are threatening to drive the nails of the sanctions of the blockade, of the economic aggression, against the hands, feet and innocent body of our country, of our people."

And the Venezuelan president reiterated that the Venezuelan people are blessed and that the Empire, in its arrogance, "thinks it owns our people."

"We will always have to teach a lesson from the rebellious spirit of Christ the Redeemer to those who do harm with their evil.  They believe they can put an end to our hope, to our spiritual strength," he said.

Likewise, the Venezuelan leader assured that "we multiplied by millions and the new era began, the era of Christ that we are living.  Today we can say from Venezuela, the same.  They have not been able nor will they be able to defeat us."
