Bogota, April 27 (RHC)-- The Government of Colombia stated that after learning of the worrying results of several mass graves in central Gaza, it joins the calls to carry out an exhaustive and impartial investigation to determine the facts, since it is possible that crimes have been committed. of war.

The Colombian Foreign Ministry reported on its account on the social network X that its country "joins the calls for a complete and independent investigation to clarify the facts, since war crimes could have been committed."

“Colombia insists, once again, that a sustained ceasefire, immediate release of the hostages, as well as the regular entry and in the necessary quantities of aid to the civilian population are urgently required,” she added.

After a four-month ground offensive in Khan Yunis, on April 7, the Israeli army withdrew from the city.

Paramedics and rescue teams who recovered the bodies of civilians from mass graves discovered at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip expressed concerns of organ theft by Israeli forces.

Some bodies were also reported to have been discovered with their hands tied and their abdomens cut and sewn differently from common wound-closing techniques in the Gaza Strip, raising suspicions of organ theft.

The videos and photographs of the victims showed clear signs of torture on their bodies. Additionally, the victims were tied with plastic shackles.  The other victims were found with gunshot wounds to the head, indicating that they were executed in the field.

Many bodies were found wrapped in black and blue plastic and nylon shrouds, which were not the shrouds used in Gaza.  The teams considered this evidence as an indication that the occupation has been carrying out crimes against humanity and executions on the ground within the Nasser Medical Complex facilities as part of the genocide it has been carrying out against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip from October 7, 2023.

Since Hamas' Operation "Al-Aqsa Storm" on October 7 last year, Israel has carried out a brutal offensive in the Gaza Strip, in which nearly 1,200 people have died, according to Tel Aviv.  Since then, local health authorities have reported that more than 34,300 Palestinians have died, mostly women and children, and another 77,300 have been injured.

The International Court of Justice has accused Israel of committing the crime of genocide. A provisional ruling in January stipulated that Tel Aviv must stop acts of genocide and guarantee humanitarian assistance to Gaza civilians.
