Caracas, September 27 (RHC)-- The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has rejected a statement by the U.S. State Department attacking the constitutional government of Nicolas Maduro.

In the statement, issued by Foreign Minister Yvan Gil, he defined the State Department’s letter as “a collection of infamies, distortions and coup aspirations, whose epilogue will be, as always, a resounding failure.”

The Venezuelan foreign minister highlighted: “In this ridiculous statement, they claim to defend the human rights of the Venezuelan people while they are attacking them with almost one thousand illegal coercive measures and planning terrorist actions against their authorities, public services and institutions, to ignore their democratic will and impose, as in 2019, a new puppet.”

The Minister also condemned the Atlanta-based Carter Center’s attempt to “betray its founder’s historical legacy."  "Today, it does not support electoral processes but seeks to protect them, redefine their rules and provide its own results at its convenience.”

“Venezuela has always been and will always be respectful of international law.  In Caracas, the U.S. headquarters remains intact despite the fact that the Venezuelan diplomatic offices in Washington and New York were stolen and are today in a scandalous state of deterioration,” says the statement from the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.

“Venezuela does not let itself be intimidated.  The world knows that its people and government are deeply committed to self-determination, independence and democratic values, as well as an unwavering attachment to international law and peace..
