Sanaa, November 4 (RHC)-- The Yemeni Armed Forces say they will continue to hit all Israel-linked ships in nearby waters, regardless of any change in their ownership or flags.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree said on Sunday that many shipping companies affiliated with Israel are trying to bypass Yemen’s punitive measures by selling their assets to other companies or changing their registration.

Saree warned that all parties dealing with these companies and vessels are subject to punishment and prohibited from crossing the Yemeni Armed Forces’ zone of operations.  He added that any change in the ownership or flags of the Israel-linked ships won’t save them from Yemen’s measures.

“Intelligence information confirms that many Israeli enemy shipping companies are working to sell their assets and transfer their maritime shipping and transport properties to other companies or register them under other names as a means of circumventing the punitive measures imposed by the Republic of Yemen on those ships and companies,” he said.

Saree added that the Yemeni army will continue its maritime blockade against Israel-affiliated vessels and keep targeting them until Israel’s aggression against Lebanon and Gaza as well as the siege of the Strip stop.

“The Yemeni Armed Forces continue to enforce the maritime blockade on the Israeli enemy and target all ships affiliated with, associated with, or heading towards it. This blockade will remain in place until the aggression stops, the blockade on Gaza is lifted, and the aggression on Lebanon ceases,” Saree said.

The Yemeni armed forces have carried out hundreds of missile strikes against targets lying across the Israeli-occupied territories as well as Israeli ships and those heading towards or away from the territories since October 2023.

The Israeli aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip began in October last year. Since then, more than 43,300 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children.

Unrelenting Israeli air and artillery strikes have already pushed the blockaded territory to the brink. Lack of food, water and urgent medical supplies are also taking their toll on the Gaza population.
