Geneva, April 2 (RHC)-- The United Nations agency reports that at least 322 children were killed and 609 were injured in the Gaza Strip over the past 10 days, following the resumption of Israeli bombing on March 18, 2025.

The agency noted that the daily average exceeds 100 child victims, including those killed and maimed, many of them internally displaced persons living in tents or damaged homes.

Many of these attacks have been carried out against hospitals, where children under medical care were hit by the bombing. UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell stated that the end of the truce left children in a "deadly spiral of violence," adding that "the ceasefire was their safety net, but now they face renewed bombing and deprivation."

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, Israel has killed 50,357 Palestinians, including 15,000 children, as part of its Israeli military offensive that began on October 7, 2023.  Despite the catastrophic figures, the international community has failed to stop the aggression, which continues to generate an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, with civilian infrastructure destroyed and limited access to vital resources such as water, food, and medicine.

UNICEF reiterated its urgent call for a permanent ceasefire and to guarantee protection for the civilian population, especially children. However, Israel continues its military operations in Gaza, including air and ground attacks in densely populated areas.
