Quito, November 10(RHC) -- Visiting Haitian President Michel Martelly met Monday in Quito with his Ecuadorian counterpart Rafael Correa, with whom he discussed strengthened bilateral cooperation in several areas, including education, transport and migration.
Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño wrote on his Twitter account that although the Haitian head of state arrived in Ecuador on Sunday, his official visit begins Monday with a meeting with President Correa at the Government Palace.
During his stay, Martelly will reportedly express his country support for Ecuador becoming the temporary president of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in 2015.
