Mexico City, April 09 (teleSUR-RHC) Just two years has past and Enrique Pena Nieto has spent more on presidential expenses than any other president since at least 1990, according to a report from La Reforma Wednesday.

The presidency have been expensing more money on communication and travels, according to the official data collected by the Secretary of Internal Revenue and Public Credit (SHPC). In 2014, Pena Nieto spent $233 Million, exceeding the limit approved by congress by 58 percent.

This was the highest amount spent by a President in at least 24 years, representing an increase of 32 percent over the presidency of Felipe Calderon and 22 percent more than Vicente Fox.

Companies receiving more benefits from this significant spending increase are the Coordination of Aerial Transports, the High Command, the General Coordination of Administration, the Coordination of Public Opinion, Social Communication and the head of the Presidential Office. Despite such expenses trying to improve his public image, Pena Nieto still suffers from a strong levels of distrust among Mexicans, according to recent polls. Criticism over management of the case of 43 Ayotzinapa students who were forcibly disappeared on Sept. 26, along with scandals over alleged conflict of interest in the purchase of a house, have hit his approval ratings seriously hard.
