Mexico City, April 15 (teleSUR-RHC)-- A federal judge in Mexico has ordered the media conglomerate MVS to meet with their former employee, renowned journalist Carmen Aristegui, in order to reach an agreement.

Judge Fernando Silva Garcia added that the mediated meeting should aim at the resuming of Aristegui’s news radio show, the most listened to in Mexico. The order follows an injunction filed by the journalist after she was fired along with her team in a whistle-blower scandal that involves senior Mexican officials, including the President Enrique Peña Nieto and her wife.

The judge said that MVS is jeopardizing the freedom of expression of its workers and warned that if MVS does not reach an agreement with Aristegui before the beginning of the hearing on April 27, he will take the decision whether or not to resume the news show.

Aristegui alleges that her coverage of a scandal involving the Mexican president is the real reason she was fired, however the media groups maintains the journalist was sacked because she used the name of the company when announcing the launch of her new website Mexicoleaks.

Last year, Aristegui and her team revealed that Peña Nieto's wife, former Actress Angelica Rivero, purchased a luxurious mansion owned by a major government contractor, Grupo Higa. The story, known in Mexico as "The White House" scandal, brought negative press from national and international media to the already beleaguered President. Subsequent reports revealed that the country’s Finance Minister Luis Videgaray, also bought a holiday home from Grupo Higa.
