Sanaa, May 22 (RHC)-- At least 14 people have been killed in fresh airstrikes carried out by Saudi Arabia in two provinces of Yemen.

The Saudi warplanes' bombing of the Hamoud al-Fatimi district in the southeastern Yemeni province of Dhamar on Thursday claimed the lives of eight members of a family, including five women, two children and a man, according to reports released by Yemeni media.

Six people, including a woman, were killed following Saudi jets’ attack on a car on the Kuhlan Afar path in Yemen’s northwestern province of Hajja.

Saudi Arabia started its military aggression against Yemen on March 26, without a UN mandate, in a bid to restore power to the fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who is a close ally of Riyadh.

The latest Saudi airstrikes killed at least two civilians, including a woman in Yemen’s northwestern Sa’ada Province. Saudi warplanes also bombed a school in the same region. Earlier in the day, the Saudi fighter jets targeted a police academy in Dhamar Province, leaving one person dead.

Saudi airborne assaults further claimed the lives of two people, including a woman, and injured nine in Sa’ada. Saudi missiles also targeted a castle in the Yemeni southwestern province of Ta’izz.

Fighter jets once again targeted the building of Yemen’s al-Masirah TV. The headquarters of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in the northern region of Midi was targeted as well.

The United Nations says, since March 19, over 1,800 people have been killed and 7,330 wounded as a result of the conflict in Yemen.
