Roseau, August 7 (RHC)-- Venezuelan Vice President Jorge Arreaza ratified in Dominica that his country is working for a peaceful resolution of its territorial dispute with Guyana over the territory of the Esequibo, rejecting spurious media reports that Venezuela is planning a military aggression against its bordering neighbor.

The official made the remarks in the context of a tour of Caribbean countries with the objective of explaining Venezuela's position on the historic quarrel with Guyana.

During his stay in Dominica, Arreaza held talks with Dominican Prime Minster, Roosevelt Skerrit, who vowed to support Venezuela in the establishment of peace dialogues with Guyana.

For his part, the Venezuelan Vice President called on Guyanese authorities to sit down with Venezuela and find a peaceful solution to the conflict, with the United Nations' mediation and within the legal framework of the 1966 international agreement on the issue.
