Caracas, October 13 (PL-RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has denounced actions by groups of extreme right wing against the internal order of the country through attacks on electricity substations and cultural centers.

During a ceremony commemorating the Day of Indigenous Resistance held in Caracas, the head of state said the aim of these actions is to destabilize the nation on the threshold of the upcoming legislative elections on December 6th.

Maduro regretted that while the Bolivarian Revolution is promoting a peace campaign ahead of the elections, segments of the right insisted on promoting violence.

The president gave the example of three recent attacks, two of them targeting electricity substations in Táchira and Vargas and the fire of a facility in Antímano, Caracas, considered a cultural heritage.

Each case has to be solved and those responsible should go to jail, said the president.

In addition, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodríguez reported an attack by a dozen armed men against an electrical substation in Carabobo.

In order to stop and prevent such attacks, Maduro called for the strengthening of community surveillance. Whatever they say, there will be peace in Venezuela, the president said after emphasizing the implementation of government measures to ensure public safety.
