Brasilia, October 20 (RHC-Prensa Latina)-- Brazilian lower house speaker, Eduardo Cunha, filed a complaint to the Supreme Federal Tribunal (STF), claiming the right to decide impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff.

In his request, announced last night, Cunha asked the STF to suspend the injunctions against him which prevent him from processing a prosecution against the president of the country.

According to his plea, the highest authority of the National Congress questions the intervention of the Supreme Court on an issue that is the exclusive competence of the legislature.

STF holders canceled on October 13 the attempts by the leader of the Lower House and of the opposition of using domestic procedures of that body and not those of the Constitution to initiate Rousseff prosecution for alleged tax liability.

Such action was prevented by judges Teori Zavascki and Rosa Weber, who opposed to the attempts to pass by simple majority a trial to the head of state.
