Damascus, November 20 (RHC)-- The Syrian army has managed to recapture a number of strategic areas from the Takfiri Daesh group in the western province of Latakia. Syrian army forces established control over several areas in the northeastern countryside of Latakia on Thursday.
A military source said that the Syrian forces had earlier advanced towards the hills in Latakia’s northern countryside. Syrian army jets also targeted terrorists’ hideouts in Latakia’s northern countryside, inflicting heavy losses on the foreign-backed terrorists.
The Syrian government forces made similar gains in other parts of the country, including the provinces of Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Dara’a and Suwayda. The government forces also destroyed six vehicles belonging to Takfiri terrorists and killed nearly 50 of them in an operation in the northwestern province of Idlib.
In a separate development on Thursday, five civilians were killed and dozens injured in terror attacks that hit residential neighborhoods in and around the Syrian capital, Damascus. Two of the victims were killed and over 30 others injured in Damascus in mortar and rocket attacks launched from Eastern Ghouta, the official SANA news agency reported.
