Mexico City, November 28 (RHC)-- In Mexico yesterday, the Agency for the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean held the twenty-fourth regular session of its General Conference.
A statement by the Mexican Foreign Ministry said regional delegates, observer nations, international organizations and the representatives of the civil society reviewed the work of the Agency in advancing nuclear disarmament, as well as actions implemented to raise awareness on the issue of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
The session agreed to begin preparations for the 50th anniversary of the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean, known as the Tlatelolco Agreement, an anniversary that will be marked in Mexico City on February 14, 2017.
