Caracas, January 13 (RHC) -- The Venezuelan National Assembly has accepted the resignation of three right-wing deputies, whom the country's Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) said were barred from taking office, pending an investigation into electoral fraud.

The court's December 30th ruling was in response to irrefutable evidence of electoral fraud, revealed by legislators from President Nicolás Maduro's Great Patriotic Pole (GPP).

The court had ordered the provisional suspension of the swearing-in of three deputies, all representing the southern state of Amazónas, and members of the right-wing coalition the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD).

However, the three legislators -- Nirma Guarulla, Julio Haron Ygarza and Romel Guzamana -- were sworn in on January 6th, prompting the court to declare that all actions taken by the National Assembly were illegal, stated that "all decisions taken by the AN will be void, while these lawmakers are incorporated."

In conjunction with the National Electoral Council (CNE), the court is now investigating reports of alleged irregularities in Amazonas during the December 6th elections.
