New York, May 30 (RHC)-- A major U.S. daily has echoed widespread reports of Saudi Arabia's involvement in the 9/11 terrorist attack – September 11, 2001 – as well as support for the Daesh terrorist group's activities in Iraq and Syria.

"The Kingdom has spent untold millions promoting Wahhabism" that inspired the 9/11 hijackers and that now inflames the Islamic State (IS, ISIL)," said the editorial of The New York Times, referring to the foreign-backed Daesh Takfiri group that uses Islam as the pretext for its terror campaign. 

The editorial further focuses on the influence exerted by the Saudi regime and its oil-rich Arab allies along the Persian Gulf in the tiny European Muslim republic of Kosovo through funding a network of radical Imams and mosques that have recruited hundreds of Kosovars to join Daesh militants fighting in Syria and Iraq.

The New York Times also questions why Kosovo's government, as well as US and UN officials "who administered postwar Kosovo" did "not act sooner to halt the radicalization and dispatch of the nation's youth to fight along Daesh militants.

This is while the U.S. has long remained a major backer of the foreign-backed terror campaign to oust the Syrian government.
