Havana, April 19 (RHC)-- Prime Minister of the Republic of Congo Clèment Mouamba concluded Wednesday an official visit to Cuba, during which he met with government authorities and toured places of interest.

The Congolese prime minister held separate talks with Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel and with Parliament President Esteban Lazo. During his meeting with Díaz-Canel, the two sides reviewed the state of bilateral political and economic relations.

In meeting with the president of the Cuban parliament, the Congolese prime minister expressed satisfaction with what he described as the strong African influence in Cuba.

The Congolese official described bilateral relations as 'unbreakable' and expressed his government's interest in expanding and strengthening cooperation ties.

Also high on the Congolese prime minister's visit agenda were tours of historical sites, first the José Martí Memorial at Havana's Revolution Square, where he again condemned Washington's blockade policy toward Cuba, and the African Heroes Park –also in the Cuban capital-- where he paid tribute to former Congolese President Marien Ngouabi.

The Congolese prime minister recalled that under Ngouabi's presidential mandate, relations with Cuba further consolidated. He pointed to cooperation ties, particularly in health and education and the training in Cuba of Congolese professionals from these and several other fields.
