Havana, February 4 (RHC)-- A group of young people in the eastern Cuban province of Granma will climb to the top of the Caracas Mountain, 1,200 meters above sea level, to pay tribute on Tuesday to Bolivarian leader Hugo Chavez on the first anniversary of his death, which will be commemorated on March 5th.

The group includes 30 students and workers, including foreign nationals who, once on the top of the peak will hold a homage-paying ceremony for Hugo Chavez and recalled his revolutionary legacy, said Young Communist League representative in the province, Diober Pavon.

A bust of the Bolivarian leader was placed on the top of the Caracas Mountain in June 2013 during a ceremony, which was attended by Rene Gonzalez, one of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters who were given unfair prison sentences in the United States.

This Tuesday's action will open a local action, which is part of a world campaign in homage to the Bolivarian leader, called by the Cuban Friendship Institute, ICAP, and entitled “Chavez Was Here.”
