Havana, November 25 (RHC)-- Tributes to Revolution leader Fidel Castro are taking place in several nations all over the world on the first anniversary of his death today.

In Venezuela, activities are taking place to pay homage to the revolutionary leader, including a forum on his legacy at the Rómulo Gallegos Center for Latin American Studies in the capital, Caracas.

In Greece, political parties, representatives of social organizations and Cubans residing in the European nation gathered in Athens,for a cultural gala. Participants highlighted the validity of the revolutionary leader's thinking and actions in preserving Cuba's independence and sovereignty.

In Vietnam, war veterans and professionals who graduated in Cuba, gathered in Hanoi to recall their many contacts with the Cuban leader while studying here in Cuba. They affirmed that Fidel Castro, loved Vietnam and the Vietnamese people like no other world leader.

The President of the Chamber of Deputies of Bolivia Gabriela Montaño, pointed to the influence of Fidel and the Cuban Revolution on the ongoing process for change in his country, started by the government of President Evo Morales. She urged all to honor and continue Fidel's revolutionary legacy.

And, in the framework of the 17th Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba in Peru, participants paid tribute to Fidel, acknowledging his huge contribution to regional integration and improving the wellbeing of both Cuban and other peoples in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and beyond.
