Havana, July 25 (RHC)--Three senior officials from the State Department are in Cuba to discuss the incidents that have allegedly caused health problems to US diplomatic staff in the Cuban capital.

The delegation includes acting Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Francisco Palmieri; acting Assistant Secretary of Administration, William Todd; and Assistant Secretary for Diplomatic Security, Michael Evanoff.

According to a Cuban Foreign Ministry source, the officials met with the Director General for U.S. Affairs, Carlos Fernandez de Cossío.

“Cuba has reiterated that Washington is 'manipulating this issue politically and irresponsibly,' the source said.

It added that the State Department has behaved with lack of transparency and cooperation, despite Cuba´s demands to seek a cooperative and comprehensive response manner, to the alleged incidents.

A State Department spokesperson in Washington assured CBS network that the trip was an opportunity for the senior officials to gain a deeper insight into the unique challenges these attacks pose and their impact on operations on the ground.

The Foreign Ministry source said that the U.S. are again using the word 'attack' to describe the alleged incidents that occurred in Havana as of November 2016 .

However, after months of probes conducted by both Cuban and American experts no evidence has been found to assure that these were  'attacks', nor about their origin or possible perpetrators.
