Havana, December 3 (RHC)-- The President of the Republic of Haiti, Jovenel Moïse, arrives in Havana for an official visit on Monday and holds talks with the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel.

Before his arrival, Moise attended the inauguration of Mexican President Manuel Lopez Obrador and is participating on Monday in an extraordinary meeting of CARICOM Heads of State and Government in Trinidad and Tobago on the unique market and economy.

The official visit to Cuba by the Haitian head of State is part of the celebrations of 20 years of Haitian-Cuban cooperation.

When he announced his visit last August, Moise expressed his intention to visit the Haitian young people studying on the island and he thanked Cuba for its cooperation, saying that "Cuban cooperation, if it's not the best, is one of the best," adding that the island has helped Haiti in all areas.

The president recalled that diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in February 1904, and since then, ties of friendship have been strengthened, especially in recent years thanks to the help and cooperation provided by the Government and the Cuban people.

In addition to medicine, Havana and Port-au-Prince have developed programs in areas such as agriculture, fisheries, education, water resources, construction and meteorology.
