Havana, December 15 (RHC)—The 16th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our America - Peoples Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) concluded Friday with a renewed commitment for the forging of an international order that is democratic, fair, inclusive and equitable.

That promise was included in the event´s Final Declaration in which ALBA´s member states also pledged to step up efforts to strengthen regional integration.

The document also condemned aggressive actions against Venezuela and Nicaragua and rejected the interference the United States exerts thorough the Organization of American States.

During the encounter, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel warned about the challenges posed by the increased U.S. meddling against progressive governments of the region and stressed that is not possible to underestimate its massive deployment of resources to derail governments, sow chaos and topple democratically elected officials.

Participants in the Summit praised the role ALBA-TCP has played since it was founded 14 years ago by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the former Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Venezuela´s president Nicolas Maduro said that ALBA has been and will always be the only project for integration and unity of our people in Latin America and the Caribbean that reaches the homes of the humble with love, solidarity, health, and education.

The 16th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our America - Peoples Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) was held in Havana and was attended by presidents, prime ministers and chief of delegations of 12 countries.
