Havana, April 15 (RHC)-- Cuban vice president Ricardo Cabrisas is on a three-day visit to Angola, heading the country’s delegation to the 14th session of the Angola-Cuba Intergovernmental Commission.

The Angolan delegation is being headed by State Minister Frederico Cardoso.

The two sides are examining the state of implementation of agreements signed during the previous such session, held in Havana in February of 2017.

At the end of the meeting, Cabrisas and Cardoso are expected to sign a new agreement, establishing a platform for bilateral political, diplomatic, scientific, technical and trade negotiations.

During his stay in Angola, vice minister Cabrisas will hold meetings also with several government leaders, including Foreign Minister Manuel Augusto.

Cuba and Angola established diplomatic relations in November of 1975, shortly after Antonio Agostinho Neto proclaimed independence.

Under existing cooperation agreements, more than two thousand Cuban collaborators are currently in Angola, scattered across the country’s 18 provinces, where they are offering their services in sectors like health, education, sports and in construction.
