Diaz-Canel meets leaders who participated in Anti-Imperialist Encounter of Solidarity

Havana, November 4 (RHC)-- The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, received Sunday leaders who participated in the Anti-Imperialist Encounter of Solidarity, for Democracy and against Neoliberalism, reports Granma newspaper.

In separate meetings, he held talks with the Secretary-General of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), David Choquehuanca; the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves; and the former Salvadoran President Salvador Sánchez Cerén.

The meetings versed on topics of mutual interest, and they emphasized the need to strengthen regional unity in the face of the escalation against regional peace and security that threatens the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.

In the case of the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, both leaders addressed the positive progress of bilateral relations and ratified their will to deepen them.

Meanwhile, Diaz-Canel and Sanchez Ceren recalled the historical ties of friendship between Cuba and El Salvador.

The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelino Medina, and the Director of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eugenio Martínez, also attended the meetings of the president with the distinguished guests.

The Anti-imperialist Meeting of Solidarity for Democracy and against Neoliberalism ended in Havana on Sunday.

During three days, over 1,300 representatives of social movements and political organizations from 95 countries debated the challenges of progressive forces in the face of threats from the right.
