Japanese Entrepreneurs Interested in Investment Opportunities in Cuba

Havana, April 29 (RHC) – Cuban representatives and members of Japan's Chamber of Trade and Industries exchanged views on bilateral cooperation opportunities.

According to the Cuban embassy in Japan, ambassador Marcos Rodriguez
and the president of the Japanese institution, Toshio Nakamura, headed the meeting on the issue in Tokyo.

Ambassador Rodriguez explained about business opportunities in the
recently opened Mariel Special Economic Zone and the benefits that the new Cuban Foreign Investment Law offers to foreign investors.

The Japanese business people were conveyed an invitation from the
president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Orlando Hernandez, to
participate at Havana's International Trade Fair, slated for October 29
th through November 3rd.

Nakamura proposed signing a cooperation accord to further develop relations between the two chambers of commerce and their associated members, which could be penned during the fair.

The Japanese Chamber  of Trade and Industries was founded in 1878 and it groups over 500
local chambers from around Japan.
