Havana, April 6 (RHC)—The Head of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health said Monday that all Cuban healthcare personnel participating in brigades assisting other countries to fight the COVID-19 epidemic are tested for the disease before they depart.
Dr. Francisco Duran said that one of the members of the brigade serving in Principality of Andorra, a medical doctor from Cardenas, Matanzas province, reportedly tested positive to COVID-19 upon arrival.
Duran said the doctor had no symptoms before his departure and that he had tested negative for COVID-19 before leaving.
After being under observation and treatment, Andorran authorities said Sunday that they had repeated the test and that it was negative.
The professional has joined the brigade and is working with the rest of his colleagues in the fight against the pandemic in the European state.
