Pretoria, May 13 (RHC) – South Africa’s Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi announced in Pretoria his government’s willingness to increase the number of doctors through medical courses in Cuba and advance the development of health care facilities.

The government official recalled that at present more than 2,000 South Africans are taking medical courses in Cuba in an effort to increase the number of health workers, local media reported on Tuesday.

Motsoaledi said: "We're forced to increase the number of medical students to Cuba. Ever since former President Nelson Mandela signed an agreement we’ve been sending 60 young students to Cuba every year but in 2012 we increased in to 1000."
