Havana, May 17 (RHC), -- Cuban vice-president, Salvador Valdes Mesa, met in Havana with Saleh Rafat, Defense and Security Chief of the Organization for the Liberation of Palestine, PLO, and vice-secretary general of the Palestinian Democratic Union.

The two officials ratified the historic and friendly relations between the PLO and the Cuban Communist Party. Valdes Mesa reiterated Cuba’s unconditional support of the Palestinian cause.

They also addressed the issue of the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, according to Prensa Latina news agency.

The talks were attended by the head of the Communist Party International Relations Department, Jose Ramon Balaguer, and by Ziad Abu Ein, deputy minister for the issues relevant to Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
