Caracas, February 1 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro held a meeting on Sunday with the Cuban government delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas. They discussed the state of bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the parties ratified the commitment to deepen cooperation ties in various sectors of interest to both nations, emphasizing strengthening binational alliances and strategies to confront the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Venezuela's Prensa Presidencial.

In statements to the media, the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister described his visit to Venezuela as fruitful, with a plan focused on the preparations for the next session of the Intergovernmental Commission of the Integral Cooperation Agreement, to be held in Havana.

Cabrisas highlighted the sustained progress in bilateral ties despite the intensification of unilateral coercive measures implemented by the U.S. Government against both countries, which -he assured- will overcome any difficulty through unity.

During his stay in the South American country, Cabrisas held exchanges with the Bolivarian Executive representatives to address the cooperation agenda in various areas, including the development and production of vaccines against Covid-19.

From within the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Treaty, both countries promote the implementation of a medicine bank to guarantee the access of the region's populations to treatments against the viral disease.

In turn, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, stated that bilateral relations are at an exceptional moment and will be strengthened.
