Hugo Chávez Frías

Havana, March 5 (RHC)—On the 8th anniversary of the passing of Venezuela’s Bolivarian Revolution leader, Hugo Chavez Frias, Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel highlighted his legacy.

“March 5, day of remembrance and tribute to the best friend of Cuba, the unforgettable Hugo Chávez, who gave his energies to the Bolivarian dream of unity and faced colossal challenges with admirable optimism. He will always be an inspiration to the revolutionaries of the world,” Diaz-Canel wrote on Twitter.

An article on Friday’s edition of Granma newspaper affirms that the late Venezuelan leader consolidates a symbolic place,  nourished by the movement of the revolutionary memory of peoples that, from below, walk towards the definitive seizure of power, of their power.

Chávez, adds the article, is one more voice of the rising revolutionary spirit, a kind of magnifying glass or stethoscope, to listen to the depths of a world revolution on the road to socialism.
