Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.
Havana, March 24 (RHC)—Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, called attention on Wednesday to the United States' disregard for the wellbeing of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.
"The US annual health report provides clear evidence of that government's pressure to prevent Cuba's medical cooperation in Latin America. The achievement of political goals has been a priority for the US government rather than the wellbeing of the peoples of our region," the Foreign Minister said on Twitter.
According to the document issued by the Department of Health and Human Services, as part of the efforts to strengthen health cooperation and US Haminatian leadership, its Office of Global Affairs (OGA) worked in combatting what it described "malign influences in the Americas."
The report said that "OGA used diplomatic relations in the Americas region to mitigate efforts by states, including Cuba, Venezuela, and Russia, who, according to the Department, are working to increase their influence in the region to the detriment of "US safety and security."
The text mentioned that the OGA's Health Attaché office worked to persuade Brazil to reject the Russian COVID-19 vaccine and offered CDC technical assistance instead of Panama accepting an offer of Cuban doctors.
