Brigada médica cubana regresa de México

Havana, March 30 (RHC)- -The 124 members of the Cuban medical brigade of the Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Situations of Disasters and Serious Epidemics, Henry Reeve, who were collaborating in Mexico, returned to the country on Monday after contributing to the confrontation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Republic, through a virtual message welcomed them upon their arrival at José Martí International Airport in Havana and congratulated them for the successful mission accomplished in that sister nation during three months.

For his part, Dr. Carlos Santana Tamayo, head of the Cuban brigade, highlighted these health professionals' performance in a complex epidemiological stage in that Central American nation and praised the willingness of all health personnel to step forward in any mission assigned by the country.

A total of 64,707 nursing procedures and actions were carried out, 216 lives were saved,249 patients were rehabilitated, and 408 people suspected or confirmed with SARS-CoV-2 in that nation were treated.

They also stood out in prevention efforts through 1,586 training sessions on biosecurity measures.
