Havana, April 20 (RHC) -- Cuba's Council of State announced on Tuesday its decision to release Roberto Morales as deputy prime minister and appoint Jorge Luies Perdomo,who had been serving as minister of Communications since July 2018, to that post.

According to an official note, the appointment was at the proposal of the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, on the occasion of Morales' appointment in a professional post in the Communist Party of Cuba, as a member of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the Central Committee.

The Council of State also decided to promote engineer Mayra Arevich. She had held the post of Executive President of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) since 2011, to the post of Minister of Communications.
