Havana, April 28 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel regretted on Wednesday the death of Venezuelan Education Minister Aristóbulo Istúriz and conveyed condolences to his family and friends.

On Twitter, the President stressed that the Caribbean nation remembers the Bolivarian leader for his solidarity and revolutionary attitude.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez also expressed his sorrow for the death of the man who also served as sectorial vice-president for Social and Territorial Socialism in the South American country.

"It was with great sorrow that we learned of the death of Aristóbulo Istúriz, a Venezuelan brother and great friend of Cuba. Our deepest condolences to the people and government of Venezuela, to his family and loved ones," the foreign minister wrote on the social media network.

The executive vice-president of the Bolivarian Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, announced the news on Twitter,  and immediately several figures of that country issued messages to highlight the revolutionary trajectory of Istúriz, who died at the age of 74 in Caracas.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro praised the leader's dedication to 'the work of building the good Homeland' and described him as a teacher of generations and a permanent guide for revolutionaries.
