Havana, June 17 (RHC)Angola’s president Jose Eduardo dos Santos kicked off an official visit to Cuba on Tuesday, which aims at further strengthening bilateral relations between Luanda and Havana.
“We are here to jointly consider with our Cuban brothers and sisters, particularly with president Raul Castro, all possible ways to further strengthen our bilateral relations,” dos Santos told reporters upon his arrival at Havana’s Jose Marti international airport.
The Angolan head of state expressed his willingness to collaborate and keep improving bilateral links so to achieve a major and positive impact on the life of the two nations.
Dos Santos was welcomed in Havana by government vice-president Ricardo Cabrisas, acn news agency reported.
The Angolan president is scheduled to hold official talks with Raul Castro and tour places of economic interest such as the Mariel Special Development Zone, west of Havana.
