Havana, July 1 (RHC)-- Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and his Vietnamese counterpart, Pham Minh Chinh, called Thursday to boost bilateral cooperation in all spheres during a telephone conversation.

On Twitter, Marrero described the dialogue held with the leader of the Asian nation as fruitful and highlighted the agreement of both parties regarding collaboration in different areas, including the fight against Covid-19.

'We agree that once again, united, we will win,' the Cuban head of government added on the social media network.

Cuba and Vietnam maintain excellent ties at the highest level, both at the political and governmental levels, which were reaffirmed last year during the celebration of six decades of diplomatic relations.

The Asian country is currently Cuba's first investor from that region, and it has a relevant role in projects related to food security on the island, in addition to being the second Cuban trading partner in the area of Asia and Oceania.

In matters of international policy they maintain common positions on many issues on the agenda, while Havana is grateful to Hanoi for its permanent condemnation of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States for almost six decades.
