Havana, June 27 (RHC)-- Argentinian Vice President Amado Boudou is meeting an official agenda in Cuba, which includes visits to scientific centers and projects related to the economic transformations underway in the country, with the aim of further boosting bilateral relations between Havana and Buenos Aires.

Boudou, who arrived Thursday in Cuba, met with local economists and researchers, as part of his first activities here. The Argentinean official emphasized the role of regional integration in the battle against what he described as “economic colonialism imposed on the world by transnational companies and hegemonic superpowers”.

Boudou, who is scheduled to meet with Cuban government officials during his visit, thanked the support by the people of Cuba and their government to the Argentinean claim over the Malvinas islands, which have been occupied by Britain since 1833.

Cuba and Argentina have shared relations for the past four decades and links reached a peak under President Cristina Fernandez, he said and added that at present the two nations are developing important economic and cooperation projects, which also include the areas of education, health, sports and sciences.
