Havana, July 2 (RHC) -- Over 350 Cuban lawmakers, grouped in 10 commissions are analyzing a far-reaching agenda prior to the Third Session of the Cuban Parliament to take place Saturday.

The results of control and supervision actions carried out in different economic and social areas are at the center of discussions, Granma newspaper reported on Wednesday.

A major issue on the agenda includes the fight on social indiscipline, illegalities and corruption, which is in tune with a report to be submitted to the Parliament.

The lawmakers will also be briefed on the implementation of the accords adopted by the 6th Congress of the Cuban Communist Party in April 2011 and the experiences implemented to separate the functions of provincial legislative assemblies and local government councils in the new provinces of Artemisa and Mayabeque.

They will also consider the report on the state budget for 2013 and the economic plan for the first half of 2014.

The commissions will evaluate their working plans and will draw up proposals for 2015 as part of a debate on their functions during the first half of the year. Also high on the agenda is the consideration of complaints and proposals by the population in different areas of work.

This is the second parliament session in the year, the first one took place in March to adopt the new Foreign Investment Law.
