Havana, Oct 25 (RHC)-- The President of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, described as an important participatory exercise the analysis carried out by the deputies of four proposals for new laws.
Meeting virtually, the legislators once again studied the regulations, which will be submitted for approval in the seventh ordinary period of sessions of the Parliament, next October 27 and 28. The new laws will bring a profound reform of the country's judicial system.
Lazo described the day as fruitful and said that what took place this Monday goes far beyond clarifying doubts or asking questions since core issues raised will modify the legal bodies related to the Courts of Justice, Administrative Proceedings, Proceedings Code, and the  Code of  Criminal Proceedings.

He highlighted the transit of these legislations, for which they counted on 'a very dedicated and deep work' by those who prepared the proposals, as well as broad participation of legal operators, legal science experts, university professors, and citizens.

All this made it possible to enrich and strengthen the regulations and demonstrate the importance of social participation in each of the Parliament's analyses, added the President of the Council of State.

"The criteria presented reflect that we do not come to this Assembly to raise our hands in assent but to debate on behalf of the people we represent," Lazo said.
The deputies will devote Tuesday's session to analyze the updating of the Guidelines of the economic and social policy of the Party and the Revolution and the Conceptualization of the socio-economic model of socialist development, approved at the 8th Congress of the Communist Party last April.

The parliamentarians will also address other issues in their permanent work commissions, among them the elaboration of the opinions of the four bills.
