Havana, November 11 (RHC)-- President Miguel Diaz-Canel called on Cuba's friends to defend the island's truth in the face of destabilizing maneuvers orchestrated and instigated from abroad to destroy the Revolution.
The Cuban leader shared a message from the cultural institution Casa de las Americas, which urges people of goodwill to show their support for the Caribbean nation.
"In this moment of danger for the Revolution, we call on our friends to prevent, by all means, the truth about Cuba from being silenced," the head of state stressed.
In a statement published the day before in the digital magazine La Ventana, Casa de las Americas denounced the new escalation of aggressions and the plans to promote "a change of regime" in the Caribbean nation.
According to the document, the new strategies "come wrapped in terms such as "constitutional rights" and "peaceful marches," in a context marked by the first steps in the recovery after the control of the Covid-19 pandemic in the insular territory.
Similarly, he condemned the policies promoted by former U.S. President Donald Trump (2017-2021), who took to "insurmountable limits the hostility towards Cuba by implementing 243 additional measures to the economic, commercial and financial blockade."
Cuba is being viciously harassed by its historical enemy, "confident that it will be able to deceive public opinion and present itself as the bearer of democracy and freedom", therefore "we call on our friends to prevent, by all means at their disposal, the truth of Cuba from being silenced," the text concluded.
