Paris, December 14 (RHC)-- The Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, Rodrigo Malmierca, participated on Tuesday in the 6th bilateral Economic and Trade Commission in Paris.

According to Malmierca’s Twitter account, the meeting concluded with the signing of several agreements for the development of bilateral cooperation projects for a total value of 31.2 million euros.

Franck Riester, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, headed the French delegation.

The mechanism was created to monitor the implementation of the economic agenda signed in February 2016, which would allow Paris and Havana to project lines of work for next year.

The Meeting of the Strategic Orientation Committee, in charge of managing and coordinating the Equity Fund established within the bilateral debt structuring agreement framework, will also meet.

Malmierca arrived on French soil on Sunday and will also hold talks with other local authorities, business people, and representatives of the French Development Agency.

France is among Cuba’s top 10 trading partners despite the extraterritorial impact of the US blockade.

The Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment also has a scheduled meeting with the Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay.
