Havana, January 21 (RHC)-- Cuba's Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodriguez acknowledged Friday the efforts of UK Ambassador to Havana Antony Stokes to strengthen ties between the two nations.
Through her official account on the social network Twitter, the deputy foreign minister reported on the reception to the diplomat, who concludes his mission in the Cuban capital.
"We recognized positive results of his management in strengthening bilateral ties, including the high-level visits carried out," the government representative wrote on the platform.
In October last year, the foreign ministries of Cuba and the United Kingdom ratified the intention to advance in the negotiations of the draft bilateral agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation, which will facilitate high-level meetings and systematic conversation.
Proof of the ties between both nations was the holding last December of the British Culture Week in Cuba, with a program that included dance, music, cinema, and visual arts.
The initiative is the axis of the bilateral relationship in the field of culture, seen as a strength for all the values and interests we share, said Stokes at a press conference, who thanked the institutions of the host country.
