Havana, June 18 (RHC)--Three operations to return irregular Cuban migrants were carried out on Friday in compliance with bilateral agreements to control the migratory flow with several countries in the region.

In the morning, 29 Cubans, 23 men, and six women were received from Mexico at Havana's José Martí International Airport. This brings the total number of operations from this neighboring nation to 22 this year.

At the same time, the U.S. Coast Guard carried out operation 40 to return 55 irregular Cuban migrants, among them five minors, through the port of Orozco, who had left the island illegally by sea.

In the afternoon, the last operation of the day was completed when 16 Cubans from the Bahamas were received at the capital's air terminal.

All the migrants underwent immigration and customs control, medical examinations, and PCR tests following the hygienic-sanitary protocols established in the country.

According to Cuban immigration authorities, 3,289 irregular migrants have been returned in 77 operations this year: 1,777 from the United States, 1,276 from Mexico, 213 from the Bahamas, two from Grand Cayman, and 21 from other destinations.

Cuban irregular migrants aim to reach U.S. territory, thanks to the stimulus provided by the murderous Cuban Adjustment Act of 1966, which encourages an irregular and unsafe flow from Cuba to the northern nation.

Cuba maintains its willingness to establish orderly and systematic migratory relations that guarantee the safety of people on both sides of the Straits of Florida.
