Washington, July 31 (RHC)-- Voices from the U.S. cities of New York and Los Angeles joined the world day against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade Washington imposed on Cuba for more than 60 years.

Heeding the call of the Bridges of Love solidarity movement, Cubans and friends of the island gathered in the Big Apple's Central Park on Sunday to demand that President Joe Biden's administration fulfill its electoral promise and change its hostile policy toward the Caribbean nation.

Next to the statue of the Cuban National Hero, José Martí, the activists assembled carrying signs with messages such as "Hands off Cuba" and "Cuba yes, blockade no" and then left in a caravan of cars through the streets of New York.

On the other side of the country, in Los Angeles, California, demands were also heard in favor of lifting the economic siege against the Caribbean nation and its inclusion in the list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.

Thus, they joined others in the United States (Miami) and the world (Italy, Bahamas, United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, and Argentina, among others) who took part this weekend in actions of solidarity with Cuba and to demand the lifting of the economic siege.
