Havana, August 5 (RHC)-- Cuba's Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) called on the population to participate in the popular referendum to endorse the new Family Code, recently approved by parliament.
Through an appeal, the national coordinator of the largest mass organization in the country, Gerardo Hernández, affirmed that on September 25, Cuban families, articulated in neighborhoods and communities, will support the Law that grants all Cuban households safeguards and guarantees never seen before.
He pointed out that this legal norm recognizes all families without distinction, in another expression of the same unity in diversity defended by the CDRs, inside and outside Cuban homes.
He said that the realities that Cuban families live have been taken into account by grandmothers and grandfathers, infants, adolescents, young people, women and men, mothers and fathers.
He also assured that with the support of the CDRs to the Code of Families, Cuba would add another resounding victory of the Revolution.
In the text, the CDR affirms that there are currently multiple reasons to maintain unity, ranging from overcoming the energy and economic difficulties to demanding the end of the US blockade and confronting attempts to subvert order and peace on the island.
