Chahid Al Hafed, July 28 (RHC) — Saharawi Prime Minister Abdelkader Taleb Omar hailed Saturday Cuba's position of solidarity with the liberation movements around the world, valuing its "constant support" to the legitimate struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom and independence.

In a speech delivered during the closing of solidarity days with the Cuban Revolution, held from the 23rd to the 26th of July in Saharawi refugee camps, the prime minister said that Cuba has continued to defend the right of oppressed peoples to self-determination, freedom and independence, adding that the Cuban Revolution was an inspiration for all humanity.

"The anniversary of the outbreak of the Cuban Revolution constitutes a historic event not only for the people and the Government of the Republic of Cuba, but also for the Saharawi people and all peoples of the world who are fighting for human rights, dignity and freedom," stated Taleb Omar.

He took this occasion to express recognition and gratitude of the Saharawi Republic and Polisario Front to the Republic of Cuba for its support of the right to self-determination and independence of the Saharawi people.

He also thanked Cuba for hosting a group of Saharawi students and for sending a large number of medical missions to the Saharawi refugee camps.
