Havana, August 28 (RHC) A group of 133 citizens intercepted in their attempt to migrate irregularly were returned to Cuba by Bahamian and U.S. immigration authorities.

On Sunday, a report on Cuban TV said that the U.S. Coast Guard returned 90 people through the port of Orozco, in the municipality of Bahia Honda, in the western province of Artemisa.

According to the report, these citizens tried to leave the country in makeshift boats or through human trafficking. It added that this is the 70th return operation this year, with more than 3,700 people repatriated.

Meanwhile, a flight from the Bahamas returned another 43 irregular migrants, in the twelfth action of this type since January, bringing to  285 people the number of people repatriated from the neighboring islands.

The report pointed out that the returns are part of the migratory agreements between the governments of the countries involved and are in line with Cuba's desire for legal, orderly, and safe migration of its citizens.
